Free camping in Joshua Tree North.

Summary of transcription content from: LivingOurDreamNow
Melody, Milo, and I head to the Joshua Tree North BLM Free Camping Area, the closest free campsite to Joshua Tree National Park. We drive on a dirt road to get there. There is no fence, just a sign saying “Private Property”. The camping area is open and friendly, with plenty of RVs and good cell coverage. However, some campers seem to stay longer than the 14 day limit, which can be a problem. There are also more isolated areas in the bushes where campers can hide. We checked the public lands application to make sure we are on the right ground. We also asked a local camper if there were any bug issues, but he said there weren't. Free camping at the Joshua Tree North BLM in California

Today, Melody, Milo and I are on our way to the Joshua Tree North BLM free campsite. This is supposed to be the closest free camping to Joshua Tree National Park. We are about a mile from the free campsite, I stopped right next to the paved road to turn on my dash cam and show you what this road looks like on the way to the free campsite. Let's go.

There was no barrier, you go from the tarmac road to the dirt road to get to the free campsite. You will see a sign that says "private property, no trespassing", but you can take this road to access the free campsite. I'm almost in the center of Joshua Tree North BLM free camping. It's free dispersed camping on Bureau of Land Management land just outside of Joshua Tree, California.

I'm going to pan here, you can see quite a few campervans, there's a big open flat area in the center and it's probably the best area here in this free camping area. This large flat area is very suitable for large vehicles and solar panels. There's a large camper van there, a bunch of camper vans, a big open space with lots of room, it's suitable for large vehicles and solar panels.

There's a camper in front of me, plenty of space, looks like this group of campers are together there. It is a very large and open campsite suitable for large vehicles and solar panels. Another plus is cell reception, I seem to have good reception on all three networks, AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile. This is definitely an advantage, but there are also some disadvantages. Let's look at the downsides.

Ahead you can see the main access to enter the Joshua Tree North BLM free campsite. The road is a bit bumpy, but if you drive slowly you can bring a large camper here. There are different types of motorhomes, a wide variety of converted vans, it is suitable for large vehicles and solar panels. You have a caravan in front of me, lots of space, looks like this group of campers are together there. It is a very large and open campsite suitable for large vehicles and solar panels.

Now I'm heading around the corner to show you another place. You have areas where campers can hide among the bushes, some have a lot of stuff around their caravan suggesting they have been there longer than 14 days, the allowed stay limit. Look at everything piled up around this caravan, there are also a group of tents along the road, wild camping and long term campers.

I return to my truck, it's on BLM land. I wonder if they have been there more than 14 days. I'm walking back to my truck, you can see it in the distance, but I wanted to go down and check this entrance because it looked a little dodgy. I checked the public lands app to see where the BLM boundary was and I feel safe coming here. There is a big space there where you can be quiet.

I walk back to my truck, I read reviews online saying there were bugs here, but I chatted with a nice guy in a camper and he told me the bugs weren't a problem problem here. I'll leave the GPS coordinates of this location in the video description on YouTube. If you like these videos, like and subscribe. See you soon on the road.
