Free overnight parking for motorhomes

Melody and I arrived at the Harris Ranch Inn and Restaurant. They offer free parking for RVs overnight. The food is delicious, but it's a bit windy this afternoon. The restaurant is located between Stockton and Bakersfield, California along Highway 5. The Shell gas station is near the entrance. They also offer propane and a grocery store. The restaurant offers barbecue dishes and steaks. We had a half rack of ribs and sides, which we enjoyed. Parking for RVs is permitted near the gas station, with picnic tables and even a dog park. We spent the night here before continuing our journey to the Eastern Sierras. Harris Ranch was a perfect stop for us after a three hour drive from the San Francisco RV Resort. We were able to get seated quickly and enjoy the restaurant's great food. We enjoyed our stay and recommend this place for a pleasant stopover during your campervan trips.

We arrived at the Harris Ranch Inn and Restaurant. They offer free parking for RVs here. Let me tell you, the food is delicious. It's a little windy this afternoon, so I hope you can hear me. The Harris Ranch Inn and Restaurant is located just off Interstate 5 between Stockton and Bakersfield, California. It's a long stretch with little in between, and you'll find Harris Ranch along this stretch of I-5.

Bloody and I stopped here because they offer free parking for RVs. We are well settled, we have already had something at the restaurant. It's reasonably priced, with two different restaurants: one to take away and one to sit down. The sit-down restaurant is a little more expensive. Let's take a look.

The I-5 interchange is in the center of your screen, you can probably see the red lights there. You will see the Harris Ranch sign and a Shell station next to it. As you enter, the Shell station will be on your right, and the RV park is over there to the right of the Shell station. They offer diesel, but it's for commercial trucks only. I tried to get there with my campervan, but it was not possible. I'm just going to get gas in the morning. There are a few diesel pumps at the Shell station located right here on the outer side.

Right now I'm going to take you across the street, where the hostel is located, with a wonderful restaurant, lounge, bar and gift shop. Let's go.

Like I said, they have a steakhouse here at Harris Ranch, famous for their barbecue, steaks and brisket. Here's another view of the restaurant entrance. The place is very lively, the food is truly exceptional, and that's probably why it's so busy. Let's take a look inside the restaurant.

The photos of the restaurant and general store I just showed you are in this complex, across the street. Right now I'm here near the Shell station. They have a quick barbecue joint, Harris Ranch Express Barbecue. Melody and I went there, that's where we had our meal. The prices are very reasonable and the food is delicious.

Harris Ranch Inn & Restaurant welcomes travelers. This building is entirely dedicated to toilets, clean and practical, between the hotel and the restaurant. There is also permitted parking for campervans here, with a lovely green space and picnic tables located to the rear of the Shell station.

I just checked with the people at the express barbecue restaurant if it was possible to spend the night with my camper van here. They said of course it was possible. We are now heading to the eastern Sierra Mountains, a long-time destination on our bucket list. Alabama Hills is where we will ultimately land. We have several stops in between, this being one of them. We are going wild camping at the dry fossil lake. It is a dry lake, about an hour south of Alabama Hills. We will hike in the Sierra Mountains before heading back down to Southern California. Harris Ranch was a great place for us to stop, coming from San Francisco. We were staying at the San Francisco RV Resort and it was about a three hour drive. We love free, affordable RV camping, and this free overnight parking at Harris Ranch was perfect. A short, easy three-hour crossing, and we were settled in by 2 p.m., which gave us time to get something to eat.
