We are at St. Vincent's Beach: the largest land-based humpback whale watching site in the world! 🐋 The steep slope of this beach allows the whales to pass very close to the shore, often only 15 feet away, providing an amazing view for observers. The whales come here to catch fish, mainly capelin, and it is a sight not to be missed. From June to August, humpback whales can be seen right off the beach, feeding on capelin and other marine life. At 5 km long, this beach offers a unique opportunity to observe these majestic creatures up close. We also saw many Northern Gannets with their spectacular fishing techniques, diving into the water at high speed.
