Description
Cavan Lake Campground is located in the southeast of Alberta, 23 km southeast of Medicine Hat. Managed by Cypress County, it offers sites along an artificial irrigation reservoir, making it suitable for families.
The site includes between 76 and 78 sites for tents and recreational vehicles (RVs), with 60 having access to electricity (30 amps). There is no potable water, so it is necessary to bring your own water supply. Facilities include pit toilets, but there are no showers or RV dump stations. Firewood is provided free of charge for campfires.
The camping season runs from May 1 to September 30, with a caretaker on site for check-in and maintenance. Sites are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, with no online reservations. Payment is made by envelope or to the caretaker upon arrival. About 44 sites are reserved for seasonal residents, leaving around thirty sites for transient campers. Dogs are allowed if kept on a leash.
