Description
Camping du lac Picard, also known as camping Philo, is a rustic site located in the heart of the Zec Batiscan-Neilson, in the Portneuf region. About 20 minutes north of the Gros Bonnet climbing area, it attracts climbers, vanlife enthusiasts, and bikepacking fans.
The terrain mainly resembles a large gravel parking area, with tent sites along the edge of the forest. The site offers two areas for travelers, a public toilet, running water (non-potable, to be treated), picnic tables, and a dock for water access. No electrical or sewage hookups are available, so complete self-sufficiency is required.
Access to the camping is economical, allowing you to avoid the daily access fee if you explore the Zec over several days. It is important to register and pay the access fees at the main reception desk in Saint-Raymond before heading to the lake. Final access is via Forest Road number 7, which is passable by standard car or gravel bike, but the track may be uneven.
Respect the environment and local regulations, and leave no trace behind.
