Description
Cleveland National Forest Campground near Campo, at about 1000 m elevation -- the only equestrian site in the Descanso area, with 17 horse stalls in addition to classic family campsites. The Pacific Crest Trail runs directly through the grounds, a popular stop for long-distance hikers. Potable water and pit toilets on site, vehicles limited to 8.2 m, no hookups. Shady environment of oaks and manzanitas. $20 US/night ($40 US double); $25/$50 US equestrian sites; $5 US walk-in site.
