Description
Second largest campground in the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area (Glamis area, east of Brawley on Highway 78), featuring a large paved loop and two compost toilets, but no water or hookups. This area is known for ATV riding in the famous dunes (used, among other things, for filming Return of the Jedi). Free from April 16 to September 30 (14-day limit); permit required for the rest of the year ($55 US/week in advance, $70 US on-site, or $185 US/season).
