Description
Carlsbad Caverns, carved into the limestone of the Guadalupe Mountains, is home to over a hundred spectacular caves, including the vast Big Room. At dusk, during the season, hundreds of thousands of bats emerge from the cave, a unique natural spectacle. The park does not offer any developed camping, but it allows backcountry camping with a free permit.
