Free camping Lake Elk City

We are at Lake Elk City Park where we camped for four nights. There are five camper sites with water and electricity, and it's free. Each location has 20, 30 and 50 amp outlets, nearby trash cans and restrooms. The park offers activities like disc golf and hiking. There is a four-day stay limit. Recommended for motorhomes.

Camping at Lake Elk City Park

Here we are at Lake Elk City Park where we have been camping for about four nights now. There are about five RV sites here with water and electricity. You have a view of the lake and civilizations everywhere. And best of all, camping is free, which is amazing for having electricity.

Park equipment

Each site has a 20, 30 and 50 amp outlet. They also have trash cans nearby and public toilets. There are plenty of activities here at the park, such as a disc golf course and hiking trails allowing horseback riding. They also have a swimming area and a children's play area.

Limits and amenities

The city park has a four-day stay limit and signs indicate that fines will be given after those four days. There are plenty of stores in town for easy shopping. We went to the post office and went shopping without a problem. They also have some interesting attractions, like a Route 66 museum that we saw on the way down.

Recommendations

Overall, we would highly recommend this site. It's not every day you can camp for free with free water and electricity, and it's right off I-40 for easy access. And if you get here and can't find the water, just walk behind the sites a bit and you'll find the taps.
