Free Camping in Zion National Park (RV Living)
Look at all these BLM campsites, we're sharing GPS coordinates for all of them in the unknown. This is the bridge we should cross 13 times, I don't think. Have you seen Skinwalker Farm recently, we're about to stop by. Here we go, wow, wild camping in Zion, so cool. Now, it's not Zion, but we've moved forward. But we have to talk about it, because it was our favorite so far. Having a view of Zion Peaks just 15-20 minutes from the park, oh my god it was free, yeah, so awesome. And it felt like we had our own little corner. There were several large spaces, and we found one. Another Momentum owner came to say hello, it was super cool. This spot is very suitable for large vehicles, which is not the case with many wild camping sites. There are usually very bumpy and crowded roads. But we found this road not so far away, which is a big advantage. Several large spaces available, we had one. We were mostly alone, how many nights did we stay there, 11, we even extended it because we were having so much fun at Zion.
Useful technology in the great outdoors
Our solar installation and batteries worked well, with plenty of sunshine. I finally turned on the generator auto start feature, it was super cool. This took the stress out of knowing when to start the generator, a very convenient feature. Thanks to those of you who recommended this feature, as we are new to this and learning a lot from you.
Rational water supply
We have gone 11 days without changing the water, our maximum so far. Our son came to visit, took a shower and cooked some more, so maybe we could go further than 3 days. We will try for 14 days in the future. We used our fresh water tanks until they were almost empty, but we never ran out of water. Our water pump was working harder, but we managed to manage the water usage.
Unexpected connectivity in the great outdoors
We were lucky to have the best internet connection ever in the wilderness. It was surprising to have such high internet speed outdoors. We used a Pep Wave system with an antenna on the roof of our campervan, a very efficient and useful internet solution. For those who like to disconnect from technology in the great outdoors, this may not be as relevant, but for those of us who work on the road, it's essential.
Next steps and adventures
We plan to visit Skinwalker Farm in an upcoming episode, stay tuned. We will share the GPS coordinates of this incredible place with you in our next video. In the meantime, let us know what you thought of this experience, have you ever camped in Zion or the surrounding area? Would you be tempted by this adventure in the great outdoors?
