FREE CAMPING at Boundary Dam!
We present to you a YouTube video published and produced by: One AdVANture At A Time
Video Transcription Summary of: One AdVANture At A Time
We explored Boundary Dam Campground located in the northeast corner of Washington State, just a few miles from the Canadian border. The campground, operated by Seattle City Lights, offers free camping with quality facilities, such as restrooms, hot water, trash cans and a security guard. Both times we came here, Gardner Cave tours were closed due to the pandemic. However, it is recommended to book a tour if you are staying for several days. We loved the water access, waterfall and cave at this site, as well as the ability to walk all the way to the Canadian border. We also appreciated the diversity of wild edible plants planted on site. This is a place we highly recommend for free and well-maintained camping.
Free camp! Our favorite campsite in Boundary Dam, Washington.
I love this place, I'm so excited to be here! We are Dave, Karen and Rudel, in 2018 we decided to explore one adventure at a time. Join us as we continue our journey to find the best free campsites. This is awesome, I love it!
We're back in Eastern Washington, home to our favorite free campsite. We had a family obligation in the area, so we had some time to kill. Why not stop by our favorite campsite? We are delighted to be back here! It's amazing to see how this campsite has evolved since our last visit. The trees and bushes they planted have grown well. Plus, this time we have a kayak! The last time we were here my kayak was stolen in Oregon. Now we have arranged something special. I'm super excited to bring you back here and show you the special show. I think we could even do another video about this, absolutely.
We changed position for the return, and Rudel is on the paddle board. I'm going to say we'll see if he does better or not, but I think we'll all have to get used to it until he feels more comfortable. I know if you take the paddle board out with just Rudel it goes pretty well, but when the two of us are together he can't really decide which boat to go on. Rudel is doing slightly better on the way back, he hasn't thrown himself into the water yet, he hasn't barked yet, but he is whining, but he is doing better.
Thanks, those were my shorts, I swear. All right, oh no, I feel like I'm drowning. Wait, wait, grab the life jacket. Rudel, you stay. Oh no, here he comes. Good boy. Oh, that looks pretty inviting, that looks pretty inviting. All right. Oh, it's hot Dave, no. This waterfall is amazing, I can't believe how good it is. I had never heard of it until our first visit, it's just an amazing waterfall.
Rudel's life, he got stung by a bee, so now he's inside the tent on his dog mat with the dog bone. Where you're happy as can be, no bugs to bother you in there, Rudel, no bugs to bother you in there.
I really enjoyed this campsite and whoever planted it and put in all these edible wild foods did a fantastic job. A great place to come if you're interested in this sort of thing or just want to know more. Everywhere you look there are wild foods mixed in with the plants.
My favorite part of this campground is getting out on the water and seeing the waterfall and cave at this campground. Is this your favorite place too? Yes OK. And the water in August is warm, warm enough for swimming and very comfortable. It was hot here, we cooled off in the water, we kayaked and stand-up paddleboarded to the waterfall, and the cave was just magical.
What you need to know if you come here, first of all, this is a destination where you will want to stay, because I would come from far and wide just to come to this place. We think we're about three hours north of Spokane, so we're quite far, but it's worth it.
This campsite is free during the summer, between Memorial Day and Labor Day. It's a maximum stay of six days, then during low season it's a maximum of 14 days. You can bring any size vehicle, it's a free campsite run by Seattle City Lights. They do a fantastic job maintaining this campsite, they go above and beyond. There are flush toilets, hot water, trash cans, drinking water, a boat ramp, and a very high presence of Seattle City Lights workers and even a security guard who walks by every nights.
There is no dump station here, so if you need to do so, you will need to do so in advance, and there is no cell service here. Our T-Mobile had nothing and Verizon might have a bar of LTE if you find the perfect spot for it.
There are 22 campsites here, some are set up for tent campers, but as Karen said, any campervan is suitable. There are also 10 or 13 free sites, so there is room to park your boat and trailer, and you can stay for 10 days, I believe. There are between 7 and 13 sites, from what I've heard, and that's crazy, because I think they were building new places to camp.
The last bus does not come after 9 p.m. It's very caring, come here, you'll love it, come here, see for yourself, bring a kayak or a boat or a paddle board and go swimming, go see the waterfall, unless it's snowing, so don't do it.
I hope you enjoyed this video and we will see you next week. Good night free camping! If you would like to support our channel, please consider becoming a patron or check out our new material on our website. We also have stickers available in our online store. Thanks for watching!
