Exploration in Alabama

We are excited to begin our third year of living and traveling full-time in our tiny house on wheels. Join us as we travel across North America, exploring and sharing the beauty around us. While exploring the Natchez Trace Parkway, we decide to take a detour at Obelisk 333 and head towards Waterloo, Alabama.

A Special Camping

Today we are in Alabama and this campsite is truly special. We're near Waterloo and this campsite, Bush Creek Park, is nestled among these pine trees. We are on the banks of the Tennessee River, also known as Pickwick Lake. This campsite is free and offers hot showers, a rarity in free campsites. Each location has its own water point. The best part, in our opinion, is being surrounded by trees and on the banks of the Tennessee River. Beautiful, isn't it?

Cleaning and Discovery

Tennessee and Kentucky have been heavily impacted by storms and rain in recent weeks, leading to flooding. We found a lot of trash on the banks of the Tennessee River. We took the initiative to collect the trash to leave the place clean. It is important to watch out for snakes, as the area is known to be home to venomous snakes.

Exploring in Florence

After a magical night, we decide to head to Florence, Alabama to upload some videos and stock up on food. We go to the library where Carrie uploads the videos while Dave and Rudel explore the surroundings of Florence. It's a charming town with old brick buildings, a real immersion in history.

Challenge and Cleanup

This year we decided to go even further in cleaning the campsites we frequent. We want to make the place more welcoming by leaving wood, cleaning the fireplaces and installing benches to sit on. We challenge you to do the same if you get the chance. You can also support our channel by becoming a patron or purchasing our new merchandise on our site.

We hope you come to this campsite and enjoy it as much as we do. Thank you for watching our videos and subscribing, and see you next week for new camping adventures.
