Oh, we're here on Padre Island, Texas, where we've been camping for the last five days. We are based on the North Beach, just outside of Corpus Christi, Texas. You can drive along the beach and the sand is well compacted, making driving easier. You can camp here on the North Beach, but you must register at the entrance and there is a 14 day limit. There are trash cans at the entrance and you can fill your fresh water tank in the national park a few kilometers away. Camping on the beach has great views, but it's an intense experience. Make sure you have sturdy stakes to anchor your tent in case of a rising tide. Click the link in the upper right corner for more information. Oh .

Exploring North Beach on Padre Island

We are currently on Padre Island, Texas, where we camped on North Beach for five days. Located just outside of Corpus Christi, this beach offers compact sandy terrain ideal for driving. We saw two-wheel drive vans, campers and Class A vehicles exploring the beach. Just don't get too close to the sand dunes to avoid areas with less stable traction.

Camping on North Beach

It is possible to camp on this beach, but you must register at the entrance and respect a stay limit of 14 days. Trash cans are available on site and a few miles into the national park you can fill your fresh water tank. The views from beach camping are incredible, but it is necessary to remain vigilant of rising tides. Essential information is posted at the ranger station to ensure you have a safe experience.
