Free Desert Camping | Boondocking at Quartzsite

This week we're taking you camping in the desert and visiting the town of Quartzsite in Arizona. Come with us as we wild camp in the desert with a campervan borrowed from a friend. This trip came up very quickly and we didn't have enough time to drive there. With a free week on our calendar, we decided to go on an adventure to find new places to create content for our YouTube channel. We could have chosen to go to Hawaii or return to Northern Michigan, but we opted for a warmer destination. So we landed in Arizona thanks to our frequent travel miles and a friend generously lent us his RV for our getaway.

A brief overview of our stay in Quartzsite, Arizona

After loading our belongings into our friend's camper, we headed to Quartzsite, Arizona. This small town is a must-visit place, especially in winter. Temperatures here are pleasant, ranging between 40 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit, making it an ideal destination for camping lovers.

Discovery of Quartzsite

At Quartzsite, we had the opportunity to visit the Rocks and Minerals Club, where we were able to admire magnificent mineral specimens. We also explored the local markets, where you can find everything from antiques to handicrafts. The city is full of treasures to discover and the inhabitants are warm and welcoming.

Hike to the top of Quartzsite Mountain

One of our favorite activities was hiking to the top of Quartzsite Mountain. Although the path is not very difficult, it offers stunning views of the area and is well worth the effort. The cool breeze and clean air at the top of the mountain are truly invigorating.

Conclusion

After spending a few days camping in the desert and exploring Quartzsite, we decided to return to the area for a longer stay. The beauty of the desert landscapes and the tranquility of the region completely won us over.
