Hello everyone! I'm currently in southeastern Nevada where it's cold this morning. I'm about an hour and ten minutes from Las Vegas towards the Arizona border, northeast of Las Vegas. Today I'm going to drive on roads, mostly dirt, for about fifty or sixty miles. The goal is to reach a remote campsite, primarily in Gold But National Monument. This monument, designated as such in 2016, is vast and houses superb works of rock art. After a series of hikes, I chose an incredible campsite along a peninsula on Lake Mead National Recreation Area. The site is magnificent but the peninsula is not ideal for camping due to its slope. Despite this, the day was a real adventure, and I loved exploring and sharing these discoveries with you.

Exploring Gold But National Monument

Hello everyone, today I'm in southeastern Nevada, about an hour and ten minutes from Las Vegas towards the Arizona border, northeast of Las Vegas. I'm going to be driving on dirt roads today, about 50 or 60 miles, with the goal of reaching a remote camping spot. Most of my driving will be in Gold But National Monument, a vast, somewhat under-the-radar national monument lost in the desert of southern Nevada. It's a really cool place, which was designated a national monument in 2016. I went there shortly after it was designated and was really impressed. Today we will explore this region again.

Exploring Lake Mead National Recreation Area

After an exciting day exploring Gold But National Monument, I headed to Lake Mead National Recreation Area. It's an incredible place where I feel like I've reached the promised land. The beauty of the lake and its surroundings is breathtaking. I found a spectacular campsite on a peninsula, offering stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains. It's a magical and isolated place, perfect for a quiet night under the stars.
