🏛️ Municipal Regulations — RV Parking in Québec
Verified on 16/08/2026
Québec City has an agglomeration-wide bylaw on traffic and parking (R.A.V.Q. 842), applicable across the whole agglomeration, which sets a general $60 fine and bans tied to snow-removal operations. This framework bylaw, however, does NOT contain a general clause banning recreational vehicles on streets citywide: bans specifically targeting trailers and camping vehicles are set case by case, by borough bylaw and even by individual municipal lot, each posting its own regulation code. A separate citizen consultation was even held over the single issue of RV parking on Bourdages street, a sign that the issue is managed very locally. Given the city's size, it's best to check directly with the borough or read the on-site signage rather than assume a single rule applies. Roadside camping remains a popular option for RV travelers, subject to the municipal rules in place. (Source: Ville de Québec, R.A.V.Q. 842)
