Here we are on Highway 95 heading south towards Quartzite, Arizona. I'm standing at an intersection where Arizona State public lands are located, at the corner of Tyson West and Central. The fire station is just across the bend, and Arizona State Public Lands camping is that way. Let me give you a guided walking tour.
When you buy the permit online, Melody and I paid $21. This permit is valid for one year and allows you to camp on public lands in the state of Arizona for 14 days per year, plus unlimited daytime access. Look for a sign that looks like this: “State Trust Land – No Trespassing – Enter only with written permission of the State Land Commissioner.” Hunting and fishing allowed with Arizona licenses. » There are several variations of this sign, but this is what you should look for.
Coming from north of Quartzite on Highway 95, you will find state public lands at the intersection I just showed you, on both sides of the highway. There are a lot of people camping here, because the big fair is going to start next week and people are starting to flock. Melody and I have found many advantages in the Arizona State license. There is an abundance of affordable camping with stunning scenery, look at those mountains!
Let me take you out and show you this very affordable camping opportunity in Quartzite, Arizona. There is even helicopter activity with the big fair approaching. There's camping right here where I'm standing, not far from Highway 95. You can see the cars going by on the road, but it's a stretch of land. I'm going to go down to the right here to show you this camping area and then we'll come back to see the camping available on Arizona State public lands to my left.
As you can see, there are several types of campers, from van campers to large caravans. There is plenty of room to maneuver a large caravan here. I could bring my caravan to this place. There's even a cell tower, so you'll have network here.
