Public camping in operation for over 35 years at Bear Island, on the shores of the Mactaquac Basin (Saint John River), 20-30 minutes from Fredericton. Its 80 fully serviced sites (electricity, water, picnic table, fire pit) line the water, with a private beach, swimming pool, dock, and hiking trails on a fourth-generation family farm. The location is known for muskie and smallmouth bass fishing, as well as canoeing, kayaking, and swimming.
