Description
A turquoise lake surrounded by active volcanoes, in the heart of a game-rich territory that feeds the salmon fisheries of Bristol Bay. The hamlet of Port Alsworth, within the park, is home to the visitor center and the historic cabin of Dick Proenneke. No roads lead to the park: access is only by floatplane, seaplane, or boat; boondocking is allowed there.
