Description
Youngs Creek Campground, a free site in the Hoosier National Forest, in Indiana, near Paoli. This campground has about forty sites primarily set up for equestrian camping, but it is open to all forest visitors and accommodates recreational vehicles, including larger ones. There are vault toilets, tie racks, a picnic shelter, tables, and fire rings; water for horses is available from April to October (not potable for humans) and there is no drinking water — complete self-sufficiency required. A 12.7-mile multi-use trail through the hardwood forest allows for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding (permit required for those 17 and older). Open year-round, first come, first served.
