Turners Point Recreation Area, located on the south shore of Lake Elwell (Tiber Reservoir) in north-central Montana, is a rustic public campground managed by the Bureau of Reclamation (USBR). At an elevation of about 3,500 feet and 30 km southwest of Chester, this site offers direct water access, ideal for self-sufficient campers seeking tranquility.
Camping is free and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. The sites are open and flat, suitable for tents, trailers, and recreational vehicles (RVs). The maximum stay duration is 14 consecutive days, and the site is accessible year-round.
No amenities are available: there are no water, electricity, or sewer services. Therefore, you must camp completely self-sufficient and bring all your drinking water, as there is no water source. Vault toilets are available, but there are no showers on site.
