Description
Newton Creek Campground is a forest campground managed by the US Forest Service in Shoshone National Forest, Wyoming. Located at an elevation of 6,300 feet along the Shoshone River, it is situated on North Fork Highway (US 14/16/20), 37 miles west of Cody and just 16 miles from the east entrance of Yellowstone National Park.
This campground is a popular base for exploring the area, but there is an important safety rule: only hard-sided vehicles are allowed. Tents and pop-up campers are strictly prohibited due to the frequent presence of grizzly bears.
