Free Camping in PA | 2022 Update

Author: LivingOurDreamNow
Hello everyone, it’s Lou with Living Our Dream Now and if you follow our channel, you know that Melody and I love free and affordable RV camping. In fact, we’ve made many playlists about free camping all over the United States, but today I want to give you an update on free camping in Pennsylvania. There have been some changes with the Pennsylvania State Forests. In fact, I had a viewer write me a comment the other day and I’m going to show you that comment. That comment is from Curtis and Curtis says that it was good while it lasted, all of the Pennsylvania State Forest sites have now been integrated into the Reserve America platform. After Curtis wrote me that comment in response to one of our videos about free camping at the Forbes State Forest. After receiving that comment, I explored the new procedures for camping at the Pennsylvania State Forests. If we look at the Pennsylvania Department of Natural Resources website, we can see that all designated state forest campsites will now be reserved through the Pennsylvania State Parks and Forests Reservations website. This is done through the Reserve America website. For example, if you want to go to Forbes State Forest, you will see that starting November 3, 2022, all designated state forest campsites will be reserved through the Reserve America website. There is now a $10 per night fee for these sites, in addition to the fees that Reserve America charges you. Not all campsites in the Pennsylvania State Forest system are the same. For example, when my wife and I went to Macho State Forest, there were camping areas with pit toilets and trash cans, while when we went to Forbes State Forest, these facilities were not available. Free is no longer relevant, but you can still watch our videos to see the campsites before you make your reservation. I wanted to share this update with you, please like and subscribe if you like our videos. See you soon!

In summary, Lou from Living Our Dream Now shares an update on free camping in Pennsylvania. Due to changes in Pennsylvania State Forests, all campsites are now reserved through the Reserve America website with a $10 per night fee. Facilities vary from forest to forest, with pit toilets in Macho State Forest and no facilities in Forbes State Forest. Despite the end of free camping, you can still check out Lou’s old videos to get a feel for the campsites before booking. Be sure to subscribe to their channel for more updates.
