Description
Primitive camping located furthest north in the park, nestled in a narrow valley filled with boulders, sycamores, and native palms along Coyote Creek. Access requires a high-clearance 4x4 vehicle, or several kilometers of hiking -- completely to be avoided with large RVs. Five sites with picnic tables and shaded ramadas, pit toilets, but no potable water. Closed every summer (June 1 to September 30) to protect the water sources used by the bighorn sheep. Current official rate: $20 US/night on a self-pay basis (some third-party guides still describe it as free, to be confirmed).
