Description
Nicknamed the "American Alps," this park has more glaciers than any other park in the United States outside of Alaska, amidst jagged peaks. The spectacular scenic route North Cascades Highway runs through the Ross Lake recreation area; the visitor center is located in Newhalem, with camping available along the road and in the backcountry.
