Camping dispersé gratuit (boondocking) à la Factory Butte Recreation Area, une aire du Bureau of Land Management (BLM) à environ 12 milles à l'ouest de Hanksville, en Utah, sur la route 24. Le site offre des paysages désertiques spectaculaires de type lunaire (badlands, buttes et falaises), très prisés des photographes, avec plusieurs aires plates et de niveau pour stationner un véhicule récréatif. Il s'agit d'une zone principalement dédiée aux véhicules hors route (OHV) : les usagers motorisés doivent rester dans les aires ouvertes désignées et sur les routes autorisées. Aucun service sur place (ni eau, ni vidange; toilettes seulement au kiosque d'accueil de l'aire) : autonomie complète requise. Accès par des routes de terre — prudence par temps humide, l'argile devient impraticable. Sans frais ni réservation, premier arrivé premier servi.
